Selecting a book cover design.
Your book cover is one of the most important components when it comes to getting readers to buy your book. Readers won’t even pick up a book (or click!) if they don’t find the cover engaging.
I looked at many covers and it was The Great Gatsby’s cover, especially the eyes that drew my attention. The Great Gatsby is one of my favorite books. My own book has a great deal of Gatsby references throughout so I thought it would be fun to have a shout out or Easter egg (if you will) to Gatsby as part of my cover design!! Of course I had to pick the eyes!!!
The title reference has a double entendre to it. I’ll leave it at that.
Finally, there is a grand mansion on the cover. It is a shout out to the fictious mansion in the book however it too is a shout out to- OHEKA CASTLE, which was the inspiration for the mansion in the boo
